Isaiah 58:8 (NLT) “…your godliness will lead you forward, goodness will be a shield before you, and the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind.”
.
These past several weeks I have been studying the armor of God described in Ephesians 6:10-18. In is interesting to note that there is no armor provided for the backside.
.
Even the Roman soldiers of that day when this letter was written by the Apostle Paul did not have armor in the back. Retreating or fleeing was not an option. They were trained for warfare, to either stand their ground or advance no matter the cost.
Ephesians 6:11 MSG) “So take everything the Master has set out for you, well-made weapons of the best materials. And put them to use so you will be able to stand up to everything the Devil throws your way. This is no afternoon athletic contest that we’ll walk away from and forget about in a couple of hours. This is for keeps, a life-or-death fight to the finish against the Devil and all his angels.”
The fact is we are to stand firm and stand safe against all strategies of the devil. We are NOT to retreat.
The Bible confirms the devil WILL flee from uswhen we stand firm against him.
James 4:7 (AMP) says “So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you.”
We are in spiritual warfare. There is a battle always going on. One that is not seen. We must stand our ground and press on. We have God’s promises to assure us and encourage us that He is on our side, we don’t have to be afraid. (See Psalm 118:6-9)
We don’t have to retreat or flee from the battles of life because God’s got our back.
When we press forward, we are showing we have totally surrendered to God. Through faith in Hispromises, we know that God will see us through.
Don’t you love knowing that it is a fixed battle. Jesus had already won. He has already overcome on our behalf. He has already given us the authority and power to be overcomers. So, we have the victory, we don’t have to lose!
1 Corinthians 15:57 (TPT) “But we thank God for giving us the victory as conquerors through our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One.”
In life we will experience challenging situations in which our faith is tested. God is our ultimate protector, provider, strengthener, helper, and defender. He will not fail us. He will not let us down. We don’t have to be discouraged or afraid.(See Hebrews 13:5)
When we stand on His Word, He will keep us from all harm and watch over our life as we come and go. (See Psalm 121:7-8)
God is our impregnatable Guard. He will fight on our behalf against our enemies to save us. Thank God for being our rear guard! We have the assurance there are no surprises coming from behind us or before us. We will NOT be blindsided!
We can confidently know who we are in Christ bystudying the Word of God. We don’t have to be misinformed. (See Hosea 4:6).
News alert—we are destined to finish well! (See Jeremiah 29:11)
So, my friend, let us NOT grow weary or become discouraged in the struggles of life, for at the proper time we WILL reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give in. (See Galatians 6:9)
AND remember, the glory of the Lord will protect you from behind, so no blindsided surprises!
Blessings,
Cindy
